Kerouac is at his best when he’s detailing her torment and how her relationship with Leo soothes that pain. It took me slightly longer to read it. I am an admitted Kerouac fan and I kerluac most people who read Kerouac begin and end with On the Road, which was of course groundbreaking in its day.
