The Benko Gambit is dreaded by many 1 d4 players. Its considered to be solid and it’s in Magnus Carlsen’s repertoire! I wigh really know any system well as black against d4 I’ve been just playing on the fly, and my results are starting to really show it!

I’m was learning the Nimzo and Bogo indian system but I’m finding that everyone and I mean EVERYONE at my level instantly avoids these systems with an e3 and we’re back either in QG or Q Indian systems, and none of my resources seem to address this way to sidestep these system, so I’m looking for something else.

All in all, the book really helped me understand the Benko and same systems much better, plus gave me a very viable and good wave of openings against the d4 and Nf3 that has always given me problems in the past!

Aveskulov examines all of White’s options and move-orders after 1 d4 Nf6, and shows an aggressive reply to each of them. This is a valid concern but I am not worried since I practically stopped playing in the tournaments and mostly focused on chess coaching and my PhD research.
