The book would have been much better if it was half the length. Irving obviously makes a ton of green transforming Vasari into easily digested, entertaining B movies, lite easy to read narratives, and it makes me wish I was dead. The answer to agonir question is: I am more informed of Michelangelo now that I have read the bookbut fortunately I came to the conclusion that I don’t think I would like the man in person.
